Asthma Education
For parents of young children newly with asthma, the prognosis often looks dark and the idea of managing a chronic illness may be daunting. The responsibility of caring for a child who cannot tell you that they are having difficulty breathing, the strain of sleepless nights due to the constant coughing of a little one and the guilt of wondering if you as a parent could have done something to prevent the development of the disease your child now has to live with are all heavy burdens to bear. The feelings of uncertainty and fear of the unknown are some of the most difficult barriers to over come. My goal with my service learning project is to promote education for parents of children with asthma.
